Preparing to walk The Way

We believe God is calling us to walk the Way of Santiago de Compostela in the summer of 2014. It's 450 miles in northern Spain and it is a major challenge for us. But we're learning to depend on Him more and more every day as we prepare for this adventure. Join us as we train and prepare!

El Camino de Santiago de Compostela

The Way of St. James is a trail across northern Spain ending at Santiago de Compostela, where tradition tells that the bones of the Apostle James are interred. The Way has been walked by pilgrims for over a thousand years. We lived on the Iberian peninsula for about eight years and had heard about Santiago, though we never visited. It was a movie starring Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez that really captured our attention. The Way was directed by Estevez and we must have watched it a half-dozen times the first month. You can learn more about Hiking the Camino on Wikipedia and you can watch the movie right now on Amazon.com. When we first began preparing to walk, we got up off the couch and stayed on our feet for about 15 minutes. We recently completed a hike of over four miles and are planning to take part in several 5K walks in the near future. Follow us as we prepare to walk and enjoy our posts!

About Me

My photo
Steve Ford
I wanted to be a writer. And a photographer. Then an editor and a content producer. Then life came along, but the Lord intervened. My wife and I spent 18 years overseas as ambassadors for Christ, sharing the Gospel in West Africa and Wester Europe. Then we came home, promoting the Gospel among the heathen in our own country! After nearly four decades of full-time service to the Lord, I'm retired. But doing the same sorts of things I've always done!
